Genesis 26:14
“He had possessions of flocks, possessions of herds, and a great household. The Philistines envied him.”
What does Genesis 26:14 mean?
Isaac had become so prosperous that his wealth was impossible to ignore—flocks, herds, and many servants filled his life. When people around us succeed, it can stir up complicated feelings, and that's exactly what happened here. The Philistines looked at what God had given Isaac and wanted it for themselves, which led to conflict and tension between them. This verse reminds us that blessing sometimes brings unwanted attention, and not everyone will be happy when we flourish.
