Genesis 25:21
βIsaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.β
What does Genesis 25:21 mean?
Isaac's prayer for his wife shows us something beautiful about how he valued her and their shared longing for children. Rather than blame or distance himself from Rebekah, he brought their pain directly to God in intercession. When God answered that prayer, it wasn't because Isaac performed some magic formula, but because he genuinely sought God's help for a situation neither of them could fix alone. This reminds us that praying for others, especially those closest to us, is one of the most powerful things we can do, and that sometimes God's answer comes through patience and faithful asking.
