What does Genesis 24:49 mean?
Abraham's servant has traveled a long distance to find a wife for Isaac, and he's just witnessed what seems like a divine answer to his prayer: a young woman named Rebekah appeared at the well and showed him extraordinary kindness. Now he's asking her family directly: will you let her marry Isaac, or should I look elsewhere? The servant isn't being demanding or rude; he's respectfully asking for clarity so he can move forward one way or another. There's something tender here about needing to know where you stand with people, especially when big decisions are at stake. Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is ask honest questions and accept honest answers, trusting that God will guide us even if the answer isn't what we hoped for.
