What does Genesis 20:15 mean?
King Abimelech is offering Abraham complete freedom and hospitality after a tense situation where Abraham had claimed his wife Sarah was only his sister (out of fear). Rather than punishing Abraham for the deception, Abimelech extends generosity, essentially saying Abraham can live anywhere he wants in the kingdom. It's a powerful moment of reconciliation and grace extended even after trust has been broken. This shows us something beautiful about how people can respond to conflict: with openness rather than retaliation. Abimelech had every reason to be angry, yet he chooses to be welcoming instead.
