What does Genesis 18:13 mean?
God directly calls out Sarah's laughter, not in anger but as an invitation to examine her doubt. Sarah had just overheard the promise that she would have a son within a year, and her laugh was the natural response of someone whose body and circumstances made the promise seem impossible. The question itself is gentle—God isn't asking because He doesn't know what Sarah thought, but because He wants her to confront the gap between what seems humanly impossible and what He's saying is true.
