What does Genesis 15:6 mean?

Abraham was promised descendants as numerous as the stars, and despite having no children and being advanced in age, he simply trusted God's word. That trust, that deep confidence in God's faithfulness, is what counted as righteousness in his account. The verse shows us that right standing with God isn't earned through perfect behavior or religious performance, but through believing Him when He makes a promise, especially when circumstances seem impossible. It's a foundational moment that echoes throughout Scripture, teaching us that faith itself is the bridge between who we are and who God declares us to be.
