What does Genesis 15:4 mean?
Abram had been waiting years for God's promise of a child to come true, and in the meantime he'd made a practical arrangement: his servant Eliezer would inherit everything. God interrupts this plan to clarify what He actually meant. The promise isn't about inheritance law or family business arrangements—it's about a biological child of Abram's own, someone who will carry on his line and God's covenant.
