Genesis 12:11
“When he had come near to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “See now, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look at.”
What does Genesis 12:11 mean?
Abram is about to enter Egypt during a famine, and he's suddenly worried. He tells his wife Sarai that her beauty might put them both in danger, since powerful men might want her for themselves. This moment shows us something very human: fear can make us do things we wouldn't normally do, even things that betray the people we love most.
