What does Genesis 12:10 mean?

When hardship strikes, even the faithful sometimes find themselves taking unexpected paths. Abram's choice to leave Canaan for Egypt shows us that seeking survival during crisis isn't a sign of weak faith, but often just wisdom and care for the family depending on us. The journey he takes here will test him in ways he doesn't yet know, reminding us that God's promises don't always unfold smoothly or according to our plans. Sometimes the detours and difficult seasons are where our real growth happens.
