Genesis 11:8
βSo Yahweh scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.β
What does Genesis 11:8 mean?
When human pride reached a breaking point, God intervened by confusing human language so people could no longer understand each other. This forced them to scatter across the earth in different groups, abandoning their ambitious building project in Babylon. The sudden inability to communicate meant they couldn't continue working together toward their goal of building a tower that would make themselves famous and independent from God. What started as a unified human civilization was suddenly divided, and their grand plans fell apart simply because they couldn't speak the same language anymore.
