Galatians 2:19
“For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.”
What does Galatians 2:19 mean?
Paul is describing a spiritual turning point where he stopped trying to earn God's favor through keeping the law and instead surrendered himself completely to God. He's saying that the very thing he once thought would bring him closer to God (strict rule-following) actually taught him he couldn't do it, and that realization freed him to rely on God's grace instead. It's like realizing you can't climb a mountain, so you stop exhausting yourself trying and instead ask for help. That surrender, paradoxically, is what brought him truly alive in his relationship with God.
