What does Ezra 8:19 mean?

This verse is part of a list of priests and Levites who volunteered to return with Ezra from Babylon to Jerusalem. Hashabiah and Jeshaiah were leaders among the Levites, descendants of Merari (one of the sons of Levi), and they brought twenty of their relatives with them on this journey. The careful naming and numbering shows how seriously this community took the return to their homeland and the restoration of worship in Jerusalem. It's a quiet reminder that big spiritual movements are often made possible by ordinary people deciding to commit themselves and their families to something larger than themselves.
