Ezra 2:30

What does Ezra 2:30 mean?
This verse is part of a census list documenting the Jewish exiles who returned from Babylon to Jerusalem around 538 BCE, after King Cyrus allowed them to go home and rebuild the temple. Magbish was apparently a town or family clan, and 156 of its members made the long and difficult journey back to the land their ancestors had left generations before. These lists, while they might seem like just names and numbers, represent real people choosing to return, to rebuild, and to practice their faith again after decades of displacement. It's a reminder that behind every number in Scripture are individual stories of hope, courage, and faith in action.
