Ezekiel 8:13
“He said also to me, “You will again see more of the great abominations which they do.””
What does Ezekiel 8:13 mean?
God tells Ezekiel that he's about to witness even more troubling scenes of what the people of Jerusalem are doing in secret. This isn't God threatening punishment for its own sake, but rather pulling back a curtain so the prophet understands how deeply the people have turned away. Throughout Ezekiel's vision, God keeps showing him layer after layer of unfaithfulness, idolatry, and injustice happening right there in the temple itself—the place meant to be holy. When you're in a hard season and wondering why God seems silent or distant, it can help to remember that God actually sees what others miss, and His awareness of our struggles and our world's pain is part of how He moves toward us with truth and hope, not away from us.
