Ezekiel 7:11

What does Ezekiel 7:11 mean?
Ezekiel is describing a society that has become so consumed by injustice and cruelty that violence itself has become like a weapon—a "rod"—that rules over everyone. The prophet is saying that when a culture hardens around wrongdoing, it doesn't protect the wealthy or powerful; instead, it destroys everyone, leaving behind nothing of lasting worth. This was Ezekiel's warning to Jerusalem during a time of moral collapse and political turmoil. He wasn't simply predicting doom, but showing how systems built on exploitation and harm eventually collapse under their own weight. The deeper truth is that no amount of possessions or status can save us when we've built our lives on a foundation of cruelty. All of it becomes hollow.
