What does Ezekiel 5:14 mean?

God is speaking here through the prophet Ezekiel to Jerusalem, announcing consequences for the people's unfaithfulness. The city will become so devastated that neighboring nations and travelers will see it and recognize it as a place of ruin, a visible sign of what happens when God's people turn away from him. This wasn't meant as cruelty but as a wake-up call, a public consequence designed to turn people's hearts back toward God. Even in judgment, there's an underlying invitation: recognize what's happened, understand why, and return.
