Ezekiel 35:2
““Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,”
What does Ezekiel 35:2 mean?
God is calling Ezekiel to speak a difficult message of judgment against the people living in the region of Mount Seir (ancient Edom). Setting your face against something in biblical language means to turn your full attention and resolve toward confronting it, so this is God asking Ezekiel to be bold and unafraid in delivering hard truth. The Edomites had rejoiced when Jerusalem fell and had taken advantage of Judah's suffering, so this prophecy comes as accountability for that cruelty. Even when we're carrying a message that won't be popular, God sometimes calls us to speak it anyway, trusting that truth matters and that justice belongs in his hands.
