Ezekiel 34:11
““‘For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.”
What does Ezekiel 34:11 mean?
God is making a personal promise here after Ezekiel has just described how Israel's leaders failed to care for their people, leaving them scattered and vulnerable. The "sheep" represents God's people, and this verse is God stepping in to say, "I will do what your leaders wouldn't—I will actively search for you and bring you back." There's something deeply reassuring in that "I myself, even I"—the emphasis makes clear that God personally undertakes this work, not delegating it to someone else or leaving it half-finished. If you're feeling lost, abandoned by those who should have helped, or forgotten in a difficult season, this verse reminds you that God knows where you are and is coming after you with intention and care.
