What does Ezekiel 32:16 mean?

When a powerful nation falls, those around it feel the tremors. Ezekiel is describing a funeral song that will be sung over Egypt after God judges it for its pride and cruelty, and he's saying this lament will become known far and wide, mourned by people groups everywhere. The "daughters of the nations" represents all the surrounding peoples who will recognize Egypt's downfall as a sign of God's authority over even the mightiest powers. There's something sobering here: the consequences of turning away from God are real and visible to everyone watching, which serves as both a warning and a reminder that God is ultimately in control of history, not human empires.
