Ezekiel 29:20
“I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he served, because they worked for me,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”
What does Ezekiel 29:20 mean?
This verse concludes God's promise to Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who had faithfully (though unknowingly) served God's purposes by attacking Egypt and exhausting his own army in the process. God is essentially saying that the spoils of Egypt would be Nebuchadnezzar's wages for the hard labor he performed, even though he didn't realize he was doing God's work.
