What does Ezekiel 28:4 mean?
This verse is part of a judgment speech against the king of Tyre, who had become so proud of his own intelligence and business success that he forgot where his blessings truly came from. The king had used genuine skill to accumulate enormous wealth, but his mistake was believing his cleverness alone had done it, without acknowledging God's role. It's a reminder that talent and hard work matter, but they're not the whole story of what we achieve. When we start crediting only ourselves for our success, we disconnect from gratitude and set ourselves up for a harder fall.
