Ezekiel 23:32

What does Ezekiel 23:32 mean?
God uses the image of a cup filled to the brim to describe the consequences Jerusalem will face, comparing their fate to what their sister city Samaria already experienced. The cup represents judgment and suffering that's unavoidable and overwhelming, not something that can be sipped lightly or quickly gotten through. The ridicule and derision point to the shame and humiliation that comes alongside physical hardship, which sometimes cuts deeper than the difficulty itself.
