Ezekiel 20:7
“I said to them, ‘Each of you throw away the abominations of his eyes. Don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.’”
What does Ezekiel 20:7 mean?
God is calling His people to let go of the things they're clinging to that pull them away from Him, using Egypt's idols as the example. The phrase "abominations of his eyes" means the things we see and desire that lead us into sin, those habits or attachments we keep looking back toward. He's not being harsh here; He's inviting them to freedom, reminding them that He alone is their God and has a better way.
