Ezekiel 20:27
““Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Moreover, in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.”
What does Ezekiel 20:27 mean?
God is calling the prophet Ezekiel to remind the Israelites of a hard truth: their ancestors repeatedly turned away from God and broke faith with him, and this pattern of unfaithfulness has deep roots. The word "blasphemed" here means more than just speaking disrespectfully, it means acting as though God's character and promises don't matter. God isn't sharing this history to shame them endlessly, but to wake them up to how serious their rebellion has been and to call them back to a right relationship with him. Sometimes we need to honestly face where we've gone wrong before we can genuinely turn around.
