What does Ezekiel 16:56 mean?

Jerusalem, in her arrogance, wouldn't even acknowledge Sodom's existence, treating that notoriously wicked city as beneath mention. The prophet is pointing out that in her moment of strength and self-satisfaction, Jerusalem felt so superior that she didn't need to reference or learn from Sodom's cautionary example. The bitter irony is that Jerusalem herself was becoming just as corrupt as Sodom had been, yet her pride blinded her to the warning signs. It's a sobering reminder of how easy it is to lose perspective when we're riding high, and how dismissing others' failures can prevent us from seeing our own.
