What does Ezekiel 16:2 mean?

God is calling the prophet Ezekiel to deliver a hard message: Jerusalem needs to understand what she has done wrong. The "abominations" here refer to unfaithfulness to God, spiritual compromise, and injustice, not just ritual violations. This is a difficult but necessary kind of love. Sometimes the people we care about need someone brave enough to help them see their own destructive patterns, even when it's painful to hear. Ezekiel's job wasn't to shame Jerusalem into despair, but to wake her up so she could turn around and find restoration.
