Ezekiel 16:15

What does Ezekiel 16:15 mean?
Jerusalem had been built into a beautiful, prosperous city through God's faithfulness, but the prophet describes it turning that blessing into something destructive. Instead of recognizing their security and wealth as gifts meant to honor God, the people trusted in what they had accumulated and used their resources and influence to pursue empty relationships and false gods, offering themselves to any passing power that promised advantage. The language here is deliberately painful because the betrayal was deep. God had cared for the city when it was vulnerable, and this prosperity was meant to be a sign of covenant love, not a foundation for self-centered pursuits. The point isn't about literal prostitution but about misdirected loyalty, spiritual unfaithfulness, and the danger of becoming so enamored with what we have that we forget who gave it and what it was meant for.
