Ezekiel 12:3

“Therefore, you son of man, prepare your stuff for moving, and move by day in their sight. You shall move from your place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

What does Ezekiel 12:3 mean?

God is telling Ezekiel to pack up his belongings and move them openly during the day, right where everyone can see him doing it. This strange, public action is meant to be a living message to the people of Judah, who have turned away from God's warnings. Through this bizarre performance, Ezekiel is acting out what's coming: exile and displacement, a forced removal from their homeland because of their rebellion. The hope woven through even this difficult sign is that maybe, just maybe, if people witness this stark warning play out before their eyes, something might finally click and they'll wake up to what God is trying to tell them.
