Ezekiel 12:23
“Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “I will make this proverb to cease, and they will no more use it as a proverb in Israel;”’ but tell them, ‘“The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.”
What does Ezekiel 12:23 mean?
God is responding to the people of Israel who had turned His warnings into a hollow saying they repeated without truly listening. They'd gotten so used to prophetic messages about coming judgment that they'd made them into a dismissive proverb, like a joke they could brush off. God announces He's done with their casual indifference, because what was foretold is actually about to happen. This is meant to shake people awake.
