Ezekiel 12:22
““Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails?’”
What does Ezekiel 12:22 mean?
God is pointing out a saying that had spread among the Israelites during their exile: that since the promised judgment hadn't come yet, maybe the prophets were wrong and nothing would actually happen. People were getting tired of waiting, tired of hearing warnings, and were convincing themselves that life would just go on as normal. It's a very human response to uncertainty, especially when we're anxious or skeptical. God calls this out not to shame them, but to say that the delay doesn't mean the message is false, and what's promised will indeed come to pass.
