Ezekiel 12:16
“But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they come. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’””
What does Ezekiel 12:16 mean?
God is promising that even in judgment, he won't destroy everyone. A small group will survive the destruction coming to Jerusalem so they can tell other nations what happened and why. The survivors become living witnesses, carrying the story of both Israel's unfaithfulness and God's justice to places they're scattered. There's something deeply purposeful in this. God doesn't want judgment to be the final word or for distant nations to wonder what occurred. Instead, the survivors themselves become evidence that God is real and takes sin seriously. Their testimony transforms exile from meaningless suffering into something that can point others toward God's character and power.
