Exodus 40:26
βHe put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting before the veil;β
What does Exodus 40:26 mean?
In the tabernacle (the portable tent where God's presence was said to dwell), this golden altar held a special place. It wasn't in the innermost holy room but positioned just outside the veil that separated the holy place from the most holy place, where only the high priest could enter. On this altar, priests burned incense as a form of prayer and worship, making it a meeting point between daily priestly work and the sacred space beyond the veil. Its placement symbolized how prayer and worship could draw near to God's presence, even if they couldn't enter the innermost sanctuary themselves.
