Exodus 40:25
βHe lit the lamps before Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses.β
What does Exodus 40:25 mean?
In the tabernacle's holy place, Aaron carefully set up the golden lampstand and kindled its seven lamps so they would burn before God's presence. This simple act of obedience was part of the priests' daily work, yet it carried deep meaning, since light in Scripture often symbolizes God's presence, guidance, and truth. Moses had received detailed instructions about how everything in the tabernacle should be arranged and maintained, and this verse shows Aaron faithfully carrying them out. The repetition of "as Yahweh commanded" reminds us that following through on what we've been asked to do, even in small and routine ways, is an act of worship and trust.
