What does Exodus 4:11 mean?
God is responding to Moses, who just gave excuse after excuse about why he couldn't lead Israel out of Egypt, culminating in "I'm not a good speaker." Instead of accepting the complaint, God points Moses back to the basic truth: the Lord is the one who gives people their abilities and limitations in the first place. This isn't meant to shame Moses but to redirect his focus from his own weakness to God's power and purpose. The question itself is rhetorical and radical. God is saying that our differences, disabilities, and constraints aren't accidents or problems that disqualify us from serving. They're part of how we're made, and they're ultimately in God's hands. When Moses finally does lead the people out of Egypt, it's not because his speaking voice improved, but because God works through him as he is.
