Exodus 30:14
“Everyone who passes over to those who are counted, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the offering to Yahweh.”
What does Exodus 30:14 mean?
When Moses took a census of the Israelites, every adult male had to contribute the same small amount of silver as a ransom for their life, symbolizing that their existence belonged to God. This wasn't about wealth, so whether someone was rich or poor, the price stayed the same, reminding everyone of their equal value before God. The offering supported the maintenance of the tabernacle and its sacred work.
