Exodus 29:15
““You shall also take the one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.”
What does Exodus 29:15 mean?
In this moment of Aaron's ordination as high priest, God is establishing a powerful ritual where Aaron and his sons physically place their hands on the animal being sacrificed. This act of laying on hands was a way of identifying with the offering, essentially saying "this represents us and our commitment." By all of them touching the ram together, they're united in dedicating themselves to their sacred role serving God and the people. It's a tangible, embodied way of saying yes to God's calling, which can speak to us today about the importance of making our commitments real and visible, not just internal.
