What does Exodus 29:14 mean?
In the ancient Israelite system of worship, sin offerings were a way for people to acknowledge wrongdoing and seek restoration with God. This particular instruction describes a very practical detail: after the priest used parts of the bull in the sacred ceremony inside the camp, the remaining portions—meat, skin, and waste—had to be completely burned outside the camp's boundaries. By removing and destroying these parts entirely, the ritual expressed that sin needed to be separated from the community and utterly consumed, not kept or reused. The physical act of carrying things outside and burning them made real what was happening spiritually: the breaking of relationship with God was being addressed and put away, not hidden or minimized.
