What does Exodus 26:23 mean?

The tabernacle was the portable tent where God's presence dwelt among the Israelites during their wilderness years, and it needed a sturdy structure to hold it together. These corner boards were specially crafted pieces of wood that reinforced the back (western) end of the tent where structural stress would be greatest. By placing reinforced boards at the corners, the builders ensured the entire sacred space would remain stable and secure. This detail in God's instructions to Moses shows that even seemingly small architectural choices mattered. The corners are often the weakest points in any structure, and God wanted nothing fragile or temporary about the place where He would meet His people. It's a quiet reminder that God cares about strength and stability in how we build our spiritual lives too.
