Exodus 26:22
βFor the far part of the tabernacle westward you shall make six boards.β
What does Exodus 26:22 mean?
The tabernacle was God's portable tent sanctuary, and this verse describes one of its structural walls. The "far part" refers to the western end of the building, the side opposite the entrance where the most sacred items were kept. Six wooden boards formed this western wall, providing a sturdy frame that could be transported as the Israelites moved through the wilderness. This detail might seem technical, but it reflects something important: God cared about the specific design and stability of the space where people would encounter him. Even the measurements and materials mattered because they were part of how the community was invited into relationship with God.
