Exodus 24:1
“He said to Moses, “Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.”
What does Exodus 24:1 mean?
God is calling Moses and a carefully chosen group—Aaron with his two sons, plus seventy of Israel's leaders—to come up the mountain for a special encounter with him. The instruction to "worship from a distance" is both an invitation and a boundary: these aren't ordinary people, but God is still God, and there's something about his holiness that requires reverence and restraint.
