Exodus 23:31
“I will set your border from the Red Sea even to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.”
What does Exodus 23:31 mean?
God is promising the Israelites a vast territory stretching from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean coast, and from the desert inland to the Euphrates River. This was an enormous geographical promise that represented security, prosperity, and a land where they could flourish as a nation. The promise came with a condition, though: God would help them overcome the people already living there, but they would have to actually go in and take possession of what was offered. It's a picture of God providing generously for his people while also calling them to step forward in faith and claim what he's given them.
