Exodus 20:3
““You shall have no other gods before me.”
What does Exodus 20:3 mean?
God is declaring that he alone deserves your primary loyalty and worship. When life gets overwhelming, it's easy to chase after other things that promise security, comfort, or identity, whether that's money, status, relationships, or even our own success. This command invites us to put God first, trusting that his guidance and presence matter more than anything else we might pursue. It's less about rule-breaking and more about where we place our hope and direct our devotion.
