Exodus 17:6
“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
What does Exodus 17:6 mean?
When the Israelites were desperate and thirsty in the wilderness, God told Moses to strike a rock at Horeb, and water would flow from it for the people to drink. This wasn't magic or a coincidence, but God's direct provision for His people in their moment of genuine need. What's remarkable is that God didn't just promise the water, but said He would stand before Moses on that rock, making His presence and care visible and tangible.
