What does Exodus 16:21 mean?
The Israelites learned quickly that God's daily provision of manna worked on God's schedule, not theirs. Each morning they collected what they needed for that day, and anything left over would rot and attract insects, so hoarding was pointless. When the sun warmed the desert, the manna melted away, which meant they had to trust that tomorrow's bread would come again. This rhythm of daily dependence, repeated day after day in the wilderness, was teaching them something deeper than how to eat: they were learning to rely on God rather than on their own stockpiles or plans.
