What does Exodus 16:20 mean?
The Israelites were wandering in the desert without food, and God provided manna—a miraculous bread-like substance that fell each morning. Moses had given them clear instructions to gather only what they needed for that day and not to store it overnight. When some people ignored this instruction and kept manna in reserve, it rotted and became infested with worms by morning. Their disobedience wasn't just about breaking a rule; it revealed a failure to trust that God would continue providing fresh manna every single day, which understandably frustrated Moses as their leader trying to guide them through an act of faith.
