What does Exodus 14:25 mean?
When the Egyptian chariots pursued the Israelites through the parted sea, God disabled their wheels, making them nearly impossible to drive. Suddenly the soldiers realized they weren't fighting a defenseless group of escaped slaves, but were caught in something far larger than themselves, with God actively working against them. What's striking here is the shift in perspective. The Egyptians went from confident pursuers to terrified refugees, recognizing in that moment that they were fighting God himself. Sometimes when we're in the middle of our own "impossible" situations, we can't see what's actually happening either, but this passage reminds us that God's protection and power are real, even when circumstances look overwhelming.
