Esther 9:24
“because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast “Pur”, that is the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;”
What does Esther 9:24 mean?
This verse explains why the Jewish people celebrate Purim, a festival that still exists today. Haman, a powerful official in the Persian empire, hated the Jews so deeply that he plotted their complete destruction, even casting lots (called "Pur") to pick the day he would carry out his plan.
