What does Esther 1:21 mean?

After Vashti refuses to obey the king's command, Memucan advises that she be removed from power so other women won't follow her example of defiance. The king takes this advice and acts on it immediately, showing how quickly power can shift and how easily one person's fate can be sealed by someone else's words to those in authority. This moment sets up the whole story of Esther, because Vashti's removal creates the opening for a new queen. It's a reminder that in systems built on power and control, speaking persuasively to the right person at the right time can have enormous consequences, whether for harm or, as we'll see, for good.
