What does Ephesians 5:7 mean?

Paul is wrapping up a section where he's warned the Ephesian church against sexual immorality, greed, and obscene talk. He's telling them not to participate in or befriend people who make these things their lifestyle, not because those people are worthless, but because hanging around them pulls you toward their way of thinking. This isn't about avoiding all contact with people who struggle or sin, it's about not adopting their values as your own or pretending their harmful choices don't matter. If you're trying to follow Jesus and build a life of integrity, surrounding yourself with people who actively encourage you away from that path makes it exponentially harder.
