What does Ephesians 5:2 mean?

Love wasn't just something Jesus taught about, it was something he lived out completely, even to the point of giving his entire self for us. When Paul invites us to "walk in love," he's not asking us to feel mushy emotions but to actually move through life the way Christ did, making choices that put others' wellbeing ahead of our own comfort. The beautiful imagery of a "sweet-smelling fragrance" suggests that this kind of love isn't wasted or unnoticed, even when the world doesn't applaud it, because God treasures it deeply. For those of us struggling to know what real love looks like or how to express it, Christ's example shows us both the willingness required and the worth of the sacrifice.
